Our personal journey to help your family

Charity Hyams is a published author, widow coach, healer, and dedicated life insurance agent whose life's work is rooted in one powerful truth: families deserve to be protected before tragedy strikes.
Charity's journey took her from healer, to wife, to stay-at-home mother, to widow, and ultimately to successful business owner and advocate for families navigating loss. When her husband passed away suddenly and unexpectedly, Charity was just thirty-seven years old with three children, ages five, three, and one. That experience didn't just change her life — it gave her a mission.
Out of that pain came purpose. Charity authored The Widow's Survival Guide, a book that gives practical and honest advice about living with children after the death of a spouse. Described as "a brave and deeply human account of embracing unbearable loss" and "powerful medicine for anyone suffering loss," the book walks women through the emotional, financial, and practical realities of young widowhood. She has also written The Widow's Guide to Dating: Sex, Love, and Relationships after the Death of Your Spouse, helping widow’s navigate self esteem, love, and dating and  Amara and the Busy Lonely House, a children's book about a four-year-old navigating big feelings with creativity and resilience — a reflection of the real-life spirit she cultivates in her own home and the families she serves.
Charity holds a BS, life insurance license in Vermont and many other states, and certifications in the healing arts, which she uses to help widows and those she coaches find joy amid chaos and grief. Her unique background means she doesn't just sell insurance — she understands what happens to a family when protection isn't in place.
Today, Charity channels everything she has lived and learned into her work as a life insurance agent who genuinely cares about families. Whether she's helping a young mom secure term life coverage, walking a couple through the benefits of an IUL, or making sure a family's mortgage is protected, Charity brings empathy, expertise, and lived experience to every conversation. She knows firsthand what it means to face an uncertain future without a safety net — and she's committed to making sure no family she works with ever has to.
Charity lives in rural Vermont with her three sons, Oscar, Theodore, and Louis, and honors her late husband Oliver by loving and serving others through her words and life work.
She doesn't just sell peace of mind. She's lived the benefit of having it.
